About MJP Rohilkhand University

The Rohilakhand University began its operations in the year 1975, after bifurcating from Agra University. In the month of August 1997, the University became a full-fledged residential campus with 21 departments spread over 206 acre land named as The Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University.

The M.J.P Rohilkhand University is situated at Bareilly, consists of 154 affiliated colleges in districts of Moradabad, Bareilly, Rampur, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Bijnore, Baduan, Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit.

This pioneering institution was built to help the people of this region with low literacy rate in Uttar Pradesh. They were given opportunity to join professional, non-conventional and technical education through MJPRU’s network of institutes and colleges.

The university now runs various educational courses including Post-Graduate programmes, Under-Graduate programmes in specialized areas, Certificate and Diploma programmes of vocational nature.

Some of the most prominent faculties of MJP Rohilkhand University are: Advanced Social Sciences, Applied Science, Agriculture, Education & Allied Sciences, Dental Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Law, Management and Sciences.

The MJP Rohilkhand University now commands B+ NAAC certification, with modern infrastructure befitting international standards.

The university holds the students, faculty and employees as three major stakeholders to strengthen the academic environment. Teaching and research are constantly innovated and improved upon to maintain highest standards of learning.

The MJPRU holds regular consultations with all stake holders to keep close eye on its strengths and weaknesses in their work ethics and ongoing programmes.

The university is known by its research base. MJPRU is currently running 49 different projects in disciplines of Humanities, Science and Technology funded by AICTE, UGC,CST, DST, ICAR, MIF and ICHR that have been taken by the universities.

The MJP Rohilkhand University now proposes to launch degree courses in advanced technologies of which Aircraft Maintenance is expected to begin later next year. They are already running innovative courses like Applied and Regional Economics, Plant Science, Animal Science, Business Administration and Hotel Administration.

The students enrolled in professional courses like Business Administration, Hotel Management and Engineering are provided industry exposure to gain practical knowledge in their chosen area of specialization.

The university conducts extension programmes including short term job oriented programmes, Village Development programmes, AIDS awareness programmes and human rights.
